SRI GNANANANDA GIRI PEETAM

HH Jagathguru Sri Gnananda Giri Swamigal, as a Paramahamsa Parivrajaka (a wandering monk) wandered across the world encountering many saints at different stages during a period of at least two centuries. His Holiness hardly ever spoke of these encounters though save for the occasional remarks He has made across the years. One such instance was when He confided to Swami Abishiktananda about the time He spoke with Shirdi Sai Baba. 

 

Once when Swami Shankarananda of Sri Ramakrishna Matam in Belur visited, Sathgurunathar enquired about all the Matam activities and then remembered His conversations with Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsar and Sri Vivekanandar. Sathgurunathar also mentioned how He was present when Sri Totapuri Swamigal initiated Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsar into the Advaita Vedantam. The Swami of Sri Ramakrishna Matam, in awe, returned back to Belur and checked their Matam records. And lo and behold, the records clearly showed what Sathgurunathar had said was absolutely true.
